-- What You Do With the Extra Hour Is Up to You Photo Contest --

Oakland, Calif. —July 21, 2010— Bay Area conventional wisdom says fly Oakland International Airport (OAK) and save an hour. What do you do with your extra hour? Take a picture of it, enter OAK’s contest, participate in judging, and you may win one of three fabulous prizes.

Today, OAK is launching an exciting new photo contest for Bay Area residents to show what they do with the extra hour they save by flying through OAK. Everyone is encouraged to enter their photos and participate in judging. Contest winners will receive air and hotel packages to Hawaii, New York and San Diego, and complimentary parking at OAK. The winning photos will also be used in OAK’s future advertising campaigns.

Three photos will be chosen. The winners will be awarded air and hotel packages, including five days of complimentary parking in OAK’s Premier lot, which is located footsteps from the terminals. Prize package details follow:

1st Prize - Roundtrip tickets for two people from OAK to Kona, Hawaii, courtesy of Hawaiian Airlines, and five nights accommodations in a Deluxe Ocean View room courtesy of the Outrigger Hotels Resorts;

2nd Prize - Roundtrip tickets for two people from OAK to New York, courtesy of JetBlue Airways, and three nights accommodations in New York City, courtesy of Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants; and

3rd Prize - Roundtrip tickets for two people from OAK to San Diego, courtesy of Southwest Airlines, and three nights accommodations at the Hotel Solomar, courtesy of Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants.

    • Submit your original photo with the theme "what you do with the extra hour is up to you."

 

    • Vote for your favorite photo posted by you and others to OAK’s website.

 

    • Tell your friends and family to vote. The winner is based on public votes, so tell everyone to vote for your photo.

 

  • Win a vacation package for two people!
