Oakland, Calif. —August 13, 2010— Bay Area conventional wisdom says fly Oakland International Airport (OAK) and save an hour. What will you do with your extra hour? Enter OAK’s contest and show us with a photo what you would do with your extra hour and you may win one of three fabulous prizes. It is easy to enter the contest and vote at OaklandAirport.com or by clicking the Photo Contest tab on Oakland International Airport’s Facebook page.

Since the launch of the contest on July 12, hundreds of photos were entered and over 100,000 votes cast to choose the best photo depicting what Bay Area residents do with the extra hour they save by flying OAK. Everyone is encouraged to enter their photos and to vote for their favorite photo. Contest winners will receive air and hotel packages to Hawaii, New York and San Diego, and complimentary parking at OAK. The winning photos will also be used in OAK’s future advertising campaigns.

OAK was named No. 1 for on-time arrivals among all North American airports in 2009 according to FlightStats.  Bay Area travelers choose OAK for its 130 nonstop flights to in-demand destinations such as the East Coast, Hawaii and Mexico. OAK is also known for its convenience, easy access to parking lots which are just footsteps from the terminals.
