-- Nonstop Service to Nashville Restored; Frequencies Added In Three Markets --

Oakland, Calif. - Southwest Airlines announced yesterday that it will restore nonstop service between the Bay Area's San Francisco Bay Oakland International Airport (OAK) and Nashville, Tennessee. It will also add frequency between OAK and the cities of Albuquerque, Denver, and Seattle-Tacoma beginning May 9, 2010. Seats for the new flights are now on sale at southwest.com.

Southwest will adjust its spring 2010 flight schedule at OAK as follows:

Albuquerque International Sunport (ABQ) 2 3
Denver International Airport (DEN) 3 4
Nashville International Airport (BNA) 0 1
Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) 6 7

In May 2010, Southwest Airlines will offer Bay Area customers 114 daily departures.

"Oakland is home base to Southwest's largest California operation, and the addition of flights in 2010 is a positive sign," said Deborah Ale Flint, acting director of aviation for the Port of Oakland, which owns and operates OAK. "Oakland International offers a winning combination for airlines to thrive and be profitable. The airport is reliable, with great new facilities and industry-leading on-time performance. It also has low operating costs for air carriers. For most of the Bay Area's nearly seven million residents, OAK is the closest airport to home. All told, it adds up to certainty for our airport guests and airline tenants."
