The Port of Oakland intends to expand the passenger terminal
facilities at Oakland International Airport to comfortably
handle the Airports increasing passenger traffic. The
planned Terminal Expansion Program (TEx) will take place in
phases. Phase 1 is underway and includes the renovation and
expansion of the existing Terminal 2; the addition of five
new gates and supporting concession space; and the construction
of a new multi-level parking garage. The project is expected
to be completed by the Spring 2006.
The expansion will provide three separate opportunities which
are described below. During this phase of the expansion, there
will NOT be opportunities for carts, kiosks, or specialty-retail
concepts due to space constraints. The opportunities and minimum
qualifications are:
- Full Service Bar/Casual Dining (approx. 1,500 sq.ft.):
Four years of direct ownership or management responsibilities
within the past seven years with a similar business generating
a minimum average annual gross revenue of $1,000,000.
- Multi-Concept Fast Food (approx. 2,000 sq.ft.): Four years
of direct ownership or management responsibilities within
the past seven years with a similar business generating
a minimum average annual gross revenue of $750,000.
- Newsstand/Gift Shop (approx. 1,000 sq.ft.): Three years
of direct ownership or management responsibilities within
the past five years with a similar business generating a
minimum average annual gross revenue of $500,000.00.
In addition, the selected concessionaires must have the ability
to procure loans or otherwise finance the cost of the initial
build-out of the allotted space. The business spaces will
be delivered in a shell condition and Port funds are not available
for tenant improvements. Proposers are not prohibited from
proposing on more than one opportunity.
Round 1 Qualification Packages will be sent out early 2004.
