Interstate Highway Connections
Of the three Bay Area airports, Oakland International has
the best connections to the major interstate highways. Oakland
International is located near the junction of Interstates
880 and 580. Interstate 880 connects with Interstate 80,a
main transcontinental highway. Interstate 580 connects with
Interstate 5, the main north-south highway through California.

Oakland International’s strategic location as the commerce
center for the San Francisco Bay Area make it an ideal hub
for warehousing, distribution, assembly and manufacturing.
The airport is one of three revenue divisions for the Port
